What Kind of Gourmie Are You?

So…what exactly is a Gourmie?

Being a Gourmie is more about how you experience things and there are so many ways to define what that means.

A Gourmie is Curious

You want to know what’s around the corner, you want to see deeper than what’s available in the surface. It’s a curiosity for things within and without.

A Gourmie is an Observer

You pay attention to the little details that pique your interest, how it makes you feel, how one tiny thing can lead to the next.

A Gourmie Experiences

There are many ways to experience life, but a Gourmie doesn’t just exist. They participate and they even sometimes wonder beyond experiencing…

A Gourmie is Sentimental

You find ways to treasure moments from meals, to places you stumble into, an unexpected conversation, people, and little things that matter to you.

A Gourmie Finds Joy

This is one of my favorites, a Gourmie is a person who can find magic in the mundane.

You don’t have to be an artist. You don’t have to be a foodie. You don’t even have to consider yourself particularly creative. There are a hundred different ways to be a Gourmie.

Food is where The Gourmie began to find it’s voice, but it has never been only about food. I was always introspective, I loved to think and learn about anything - especially my own psyche! I didn’t wake up last year and decide, I will become The Gourmie. I think I had been a Gourmie all along…even beyond the summer study abroad in Nice when my professor called me gourmandine. I just didn’t have a name for it yet.

For anyone who is curious, I am an INFP. And looking at all the characteristics of this MBTI-Type, it totally makes sense. Coupled with my Aries Sun, Taurus Rising + Venus, and Cancer Moon placements…I am basically the target audience for this exact type of thing.

I love little things that feel personal. I romanticize ordinary moments. I get attached to objects because of the memories they hold. I love making things, trying things, and turning ideas that have lived in my head for years into something I can actually hold.

So when I look at The Gourmie Guide, I can't help but think… yeah. Of course I made this.

Come explore the Gourmie Archetypes with me, I am going to be running a fun little series based on MBTI types!
